SILVERTHORNE URGENT CARE CLINIC

This urgent care clinic in Silverthorne, CO, provides a flexible clinic space for High Country Healthcare, part of the Centura Health Physician Group and associated with the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center.

Part of the efforts of the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center to expand local services, this project adds a suite to an existing primary care clinic. Previously a Centura Health call center, this urgent care clinic was remodeled to serve two functions. For the first year of its occupancy, the space served as a family practice clinic, providing space for two providers and support staff. After one year of operation, the clinic shifted over into an urgent care clinic. This shift in function demanded a design with built-in flexibility. Because the family practice use required space for two providers and support staff, the remodel incorporates extra workspaces that were later converted into additional storage area and “touch-down” spaces for the reduced staff count, given the different staffing and space needs between the two functions. Owing to a step down in grade between the new and existing clinic suites, the remodel incorporated an ADA-compliant interior ramp to address the patient flow.
