BIOSCIENCE 2
FITZSIMONS REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY /
UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO, DENVER
A 112,000-SF, four-story medical research and academic facility, Bioscience 2 was delivered under a design/build contract in partnership with Mortenson Construction for the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority and the University of Colorado, Denver.
The clients’ primary concerns of budget and schedule were satisfied with an integrated project delivery model developed by MOA and Mortenson. The goal of this state-of-the-art facility is to provide educational and private development space and laboratories, which encourage alliance and knowledge transfer across academia and commercial industry. The building is designed with long-term flexibility in mind, as the evolution of laboratory space and infrastructure is ever changing. Pathways for infrastructure were carefully coordinated in anticipation of the unforeseen tenant needs. The LEED Gold project offers an unrivaled range of opportunity for CU students, as well as research and development companies of all sizes, from small start-ups to established industry leaders.
