DIRECTOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN

MOA ARCHITECTURE is seeking a Director of Interior Design who can strengthen and help grow our Interior Design Studio, and who has exceptional design skill and leadership qualities to direct and collaborate with our team of interior designers and architects in the delivery of great design.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Interior Design degree from a CIDA accredited program
  • NCIDQ Certification
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation a plus
  • 15+ years’ experience in commercial interior design with a proven track record of leading staff in the delivery of projects for clients in a variety of markets including commercial, institutional (healthcare, science + technology), and/or education (ECE, K-12, Higher Ed).
  • Marketing and Business Development experience – ability to help win and grow the client base, number/type/size of interiors projects
  • Experience in fee development and proposal writing, responding to RFP/RFQ’s
  • Experience in all phases of the interior design and delivery process including programming, space planning, interior design and detailing, construction documents including specifications, and construction phase services

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Articulate and promote the interior design vision for MOA to teammates and clients – consistent with the firm vision to deliver the promise and value of great design. Initiate teaching and learning opportunities to elevate design studio awareness and knowledge of interior design principles, innovation, and opportunities.
  • Working with firm leadership, develop and integrate a strategic plan for the future vision of interior design at MOA into the overall business plan; then execute the strategic plan for success
  • Represent interior design in the business leadership team meetings, advocating for the appropriate staff (numbers and experience), training, tools, technology and other resources to support the success of the interior design effort
  • Work with the interiors and architecture design teams promoting an integrated and collaborative team process and work environment; encourage and support inclusive participation, listening and learning from others

HEALTHCARE PROJECT ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER

We seek a motivated Healthcare Architect/Project Manager with proven experience. The ideal candidate has a passion and commitment to the practice of architecture for healthcare facilities and understands the important part we play in successful outcomes for all constituents.

The Healthcare Project Architect/Project Manager is an important team member focused on the design, medical planning and technical execution for new construction, expansion and renovation of healthcare facilities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited university
  • Licensed Architect
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience (with 5 specifically related to healthcare) in delivering healthcare architecture for acute and ambulatory care, diagnostic facilities (labs, imaging, testing), treatment and/or medical office.
  • EDAC Certification a plus.
  • Experience with Lean planning principals, Lean Certification a plus
  • LEED or WELL accreditation a plus

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has demonstrated experience in interior renovations, expansions and/or ground-up healthcare projects

  • Has experience and knowledge of detail application of ADA, building and life safety codes, standards, guidelines and other regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities
  • Has ddemonstrated technical proficiency in all phases of architectural delivery: design, production, specification coordination, construction phase services, and coordination with mechanical, electrical and life safety systems disciplines
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail
  • Is proficiency in Revit Architecture, AutoCAD (a plus), and Bluebeam. SketchUp or other design/rendering software a plus.
