Growth Fund Corporate Headquarters

The Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund operates and manages the Southern Ute Indian Tribes’s businesses and business investments. Their current facility has outgrown its uses and a new building is desired to house new employees and act as the corporate headquarters. The new building will be located on the same parcel of land, the design also must respond to the existing building and create a campus like atmosphere.
MOA’s design strongly responds to the Southern Ute’s cultural background while creating a master-plan that integrates the community. The building is organized with a strong North/South axis while having the entry facing the rising sun and the building facing the solstices. The building design takes advantage of the solar orientation and also faces the San Juan Mountains. The floor plan opens itself up where an atrium acts as Mother Earth. This shows respect and thanks to the Earth for all she provided, the source of the Growth Fund.
The distinct and strong building design stands apart from everything around it but respectively creates a strong unified campus. Local materials are used to relate to the natural beauty of the landscapes.
