Construction has started on the new Aurora Public High School. Designed in collaboration with RTA Architects, this 210,000 sf High School will serve 1,250 students upon opening, and has been designed to accommodate future expansion for growth to 2,250. The project has been design to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
Kyungjae (Joanna) Blaich, our 2009 Robert L. Outland Scholarship + Internship recipient, has completed her summer internship at MOA. MOA was able to compliment Joanna’s talents and enthusiasm for learning by providing opportunity in the design phase (site planning and building design for a large corporate build-to-suit campus and a medical office building); construction document experience (Denver Hospice); and exposure to construction administration (Southern Hills Middle School). Undergraduate and graduate students of architecture from 51 schools were invited to submit for this prestigious Scholarship and Internship Award program. Joanna will graduate with a Master of Architecture Degree in the Spring of 2010 from The University of Colorado at Denver. Thank you JoAnna!
“Friends, As our project winds down, I wanted to thank you for turning our (school) into a such a wonderful place for kids, and staff, to learn and work. To see all of what we envisioned come to pass, and to have it functioning so well, makes me smile every time I walk around the building. This is all about you my friends, and who you are as both people and professionals. The care that you demonstrated for SHMS is evident around every corner and in every detail, and the community has no idea how lucky they were/are to have this team working for SHMS.”
