MOA 2018 Giving by Design Program

2018 was another active year for MOA team members to give back to the community through our Giving by Design Program.

MOA teammates:

  • participated and raised money for the American Lung Association in the Republic Plaza Fight for Air Climb.
  • provided design, volunteered in fund raising for materials, and participated in the construction of the Rose Stein Elementary School Student Garden Entry Arbor.
  • volunteered at the Food Bank of the Rockies to sort and box food for families in need. In total we packaged over 5,000 lbs of food which will provide meals for over 16,000 people. In addition, MOA teammates contributed cash donations that provided for an additional 2,600 meals.
  • volunteered at the Jeffco Action Center which provides food, clothing and other basic human needs and pathways to self-sufficiency for Jefferson County residents and the homeless.
  • volunteered at the Denver Humane Society.

In addition:

  • MOA continues to provide pro bono design services for Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado (AATPC) and Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation.
  • MOA provided $12,500 in scholarship and paid summer internship. This was our 11th year to help a student in an accredited architecture program.
  • Including team member individual donations in Colorado and Wyoming, Giving by Design MOA provided another $15,500 in cash donations to community charities, non-profits and other important community causes.

If you are an organization or know of an organization that is in need of pro bono design services, volunteering effort, or a charitable donation we would love to hear from you.

Please submit information about your organization and need to the MOA Giving by Design Committee for consideration at givingbydesign@moaarch.com

Volunteer Day at Food Bank of the Rockies

Food Bank of the Rockies

Volunteer day at Food Bank of the Rockies! Our team was 14 strong (which included a few spouses/significant others), and we worked with other volunteers to sort through donated food items and then package into deliverable boxes for families in the Denver metro area. In total, we packaged over 5000 lbs of food, which will provide a meal for over 16,000 people! Way to go MOA!

Pumpkin Carving and Potluck 2018

It’s baaa-ack! After a couple year hiatus pumpkin carving was back at the MOA offices. Team members spent the afternoon scooping, scraping and carving creative pumpkins. Along with pumpkin carving there were plenty of spooktacular treats to eat!

A big thank you to our judges Abbie Krane, Ryan Bengford and Mike Sawyer and Troy Meyer from SVN Denver Commercial for taking on the daunting task of choosing just one winner out of the extremely imaginative entries. This year’s winning pumpkin titled ‘Do I Have Something in My Teeth?’, was created by team members Kelly Tornes, Taylor Coe, Ross Eddy and Jack Mousseau.

Do you agree with the judges? Check out the photos and let us know which is your favorite pumpkin!

Golf Day 2018

Is there a better way to spend a Friday afternoon then playing 18 holes of golf? Team MOA had an incredible time at Evergreen Golf Course which was made even better thanks to our friends at Snarf’s Sandwiches who sponsored the 10th hole! While waiting to tee off teammates got the chance to win Snarf’s swag by hitting a jumbo marshmallow into a cornhole hole. It’s a lot harder to do than it looks! A big THANK YOU to MOA teammates Rena Foster and Principal Eric Vogel who organized this event! We can’t wait for the next time!
